petPod 160 & 170

Q What batteries are required for the petPod feeder?
A You need 2 x AA 1.5V Alkaline Long Life batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries as they do not provide the power level required for optimum performance.

Q How do I insert/replace the batteries?
A The batteries are located in the underside of the pet feeder. For the Standard capacity petPod (model 160), simply use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the battery cover. For the Large capacity petPod (model 170), the black base must firstly be removed. This is a tight fit and should be pulled firmly away from the silver chassis (main feeding bowls). If you are replacing the batteries, the current time and day and the timers will need to be reset.

Q What is RUN mode?
A This is when the current time and day have been set along with the individual timers although the timers are not activated (i.e. the ON button has not yet been pressed).

Q The petPod will not allow me to set the timers or open the lids. Am I doing something wrong?
A Do not be tempted to open the lids by hand. Firstly ensure that you have powered the unit using good quality non-rechargeable batteries and have set the current time and day. Until this has been set neither timer can be set. Once the current day and time has been set, the left timer must be set BEFORE attempting to set the right timer. You can not run the right timer on its own. Once the set up stage has been completed, the lids can be opened by using the + button for the left side and the ENT button for the right side.

Q The lids are not opening at the time I have set them. What is wrong?
A Note that the petPod operates on a 24 hour clock.
Ensure that the timers have been activated - check that the ON symbol and appropriate timer symbols are displayed. If not, press the ON button once to activate the left timer or twice to activate both timers. Pressing it again will cause the unit to revert to RUN mode - the timers will be set but not activated and all symbols (excluding the battery life symbol) will disappear leaving the time and day displayed.

Q I have set the time and the timers and am trying to press the ON button to activate the timer, but the display is not showing the appropriate timer symbol.
A Check that the timer you are trying to activate has the minute digits actually set to a number. If you want it to activate at e.g. 12.00 exactly, the minute digits must be changed to "00" and not left as "--". If left as "--", the petPod will think that the timer has not been set and will therefore not allow the ON button to be used.

Q The ON symbol on the display has turned itself off. What is wrong?
A Nothing. You will have the petPod set only for the left hand tray or both trays to open on one specific day (not DAILY) e.g. MON. After this time has passed, the ON symbol will disappear and the unit reverts to RUN mode. If the unit needs to be used the folloiwng Monday at the same time, the ON button will need to be pressed again once to display the left-hand side timer symbol.

Q Do the tray lids go back down on their own? How do I close the tray lids?
A Do not be tempted to close the lids by hand. Once the tray lid is up and has been activated by the timer, it needs to be closed by pressing the appropriate button. When the lid is up and the unit is in RUN mode, the + button can be pressed to make the left lid go down and the ENT button to make the right lid go down.

Q Can I set both trays to open at the same time?
A Yes. This function can be set at a particular time on a particular day or it can be set DAILY. Simply set both timers to the same time and day in the usual way (after having set the current time and day).

Q How do I change the time or the timers?
A When in RUN mode simply press SET to adjust the time using the + and ENT buttons to adjust and confirm the revised time. Pressing SET again will allow you to adjust timer 1 (left side) as above and pressing SET again will allow you to adjust timer 2 (right side). Pressing SET a final time will revert the display back to the current time in RUN mode.

Q Can I put it in the dishwasher?
A Only the white removable dishes are dishwasher safe.
