Dog Waste Clean Up System 103
Q The system does not appear to be working. It is not draining away and has filled up beyond the drainage holes in the container. Is there anything that I can do to make it work?
A Yes. The installation instructions state that the area around the system must be well drained and that the container should be surrounded by stones and coarse shingle to assist the drainage. The system is designed to seep away into the surrounding area. If the ground is waterlogged or has poor drainage, then the surrounding area needs to have extra drainage provision made.

Q The liquid in the container is always there, is that supposed to be the case?
A Yes. The remaining liquid into which the dog waste is placed contains the active ingredients to dissolve the solids and turn them into liquid which seeps away into the surrounding soil. The following of the operating instructions by the addition of the digester enzyme and additional water is all that should be required to keep the system functioning.

Q Is it possible that something can be causing the digester not to work? I have added an extra digester measure but it still makes no difference. Is something causing this?
A Yes. If your pet has been on any medication that contains an antibiotic, it is highly probable that the enzyme digester is being killed by the antibiotic. In this event the system has to be cleaned out and recharged with fresh water and a new quantity of digester added as per the manufacturer's instructions.

The system is designed to work on the fat content in dog waste. If your pet is fed only on dried food, then it is possible that the digester will operate less efficiently. We recommend a mixture of dried and tinned food is the better option.

Some of the newer specialised puppy foods have a high protein content to assist in puppy development. In this case we recommend that a slightly larger quantity of digester be used to maintain optimum efficiency.

Q The system seems work slower in the winter, is there something I can do?
A Yes. The system works on the activity of bio enzymes which can be slowed down in cold weather. We recommend that warm water be used in winter time to assist in maintaining sufficient bio activity.

Q I have two dogs, will the system be able to cope with their waste?
A Yes. The system is designed to manage up to two dogs provided that the system is topped up with water on a more frequent basis. There is no need to add extra enzyme digester.
